Over the last years, our team has worked, in a participatory way, with companies offering “whalewatching” activities in the island of Tenerife in a process of service improvement towards the Culture of Quality and Attention to Detail. During this working process, a Quality Charter was defined; consensuated with the business sector, and a Best Practices Manual was produced. The manual sums up a series of standards of conduct in order to carry out the tourism activity and conserve the marine resources.
Past 3rd December, we attended a meeting with the Tenerife Tourism Board and the associated businesses to present the results of the audits carried out on board and in their customer service offices. During the audits, carried out with the “Mistery Client” methodology, we checked the degree of implementation of the points defined in the Quality Charter and we proposed companies some improvement actions in a Final Report.
The product “Whale Whatching” is a crucial tourism offer in Tenerife Island, therefore, it is necessary to continue promoting a quality tourism services.
